WINHEC—SEATTLE, WA —NVIDIA Corporation today announced it is demonstrating a variety of technologies and products at the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC) for Microsoft Corp's next-generation operating system, Windows Vista, being held this week in Seattle, WA.

"Microsoft is excited about the strides that NVIDIA has made to get ready for the first public display of Microsoft Windows Vista," stated Matt Ployhar, technology evangelist, Graphics Platform Unit at Microsoft. "By working closely together, we feel confident that the entire suite of NVIDIA GeForce and NVIDIA nForce products, along with NVIDIA high-performance software, will continue to provide users of Windows Vista with the stability and compatibility they've come to expect."

In conjunction with the pending release of Windows Vista Beta 2, NVIDIA has posted a new version of the NVIDIA ForceWare® graphics driver, offering a host of performance improvements and features that include an all new control panel, top-to-bottom support for all NVIDIA DirectX® 9 GPUs, and OpenGL® support. More information on Windows Vista and the Beta 2 release can be found at: www.microsoft.com/Windowsvista/.

"Microsoft Windows Vista is the first Windows operating system that fully exploits the power of a graphics processing unit," stated Ned Finkle, vice president of strategic marketing at NVIDIA. "Windows Vista validates the major investment we have made in our Vista product development and we believe this will truly be a landmark event not only for PCs, but for GPUs as well."

NVIDIA, a WinHEC 2006 Bronze Sponsor, will feature the following demonstrations:

* NVIDIA GeForce consumer graphics processing units (GPUs), designed to deliver unmatched image and video clarity when using Windows Vista-based PCs for entertainment such as watching TV, viewing photos, or playing the latest video games

* NVIDIA nForce media and communication processors (MCPs), motherboard solutions that offer increased performance, advanced security, and storage capabilities required in Windows Vista-based PCs

* NVIDIA Business Platform PCs, a comprehensive PC solution—targeted at IT professionals and small-to-medium-sized businesses—that has passed a rigorous certification and testing program with component manufacturers and system builders to help lower the total cost of ownership

* NVIDIA PureVideo™ technology that combines a dedicated video processor and software to deliver ultra-smooth, high-definition video playback with minimal power consumption and full support for next generation HDDVD and Blu-Ray DVDs.
