for Entry-Level Consumer Electronic Systems | | | |
AUSTIN, Texas – Broadening its strong
portfolio of audio converters (DACs) for consumer, automotive and professional markets, Cirrus Logic Inc. has
introduced the CS4361 digital-to-analog converter (DAC). With an emphasis on superior audio quality, the CS4361 is a
complete single-chip six-channel DAC solution for entry-level multichannel audio systems and surround-sound
applications such as audio/video receivers, home theater systems, DVD receivers, PC soundcards and external audio
interfaces, as well as automotive applications such as DSP-based amplifiers and various in-car entertainment
systems.
An advanced multibit Delta Sigma architecture is key to the CS4361’s superior audio quality features,
which include 105 dB dynamic range, negligible distortion and jitter sensitivity. Low-latency digital filtering
further preserves the original audio quality and experience and is ideal for real-time and live-sound applications.
Additional features such as automatic sample-rate detection and on-chip level translators serve to minimize the need
for external components and to reduce circuit-board space, enabling smaller product designs. Also, Cirrus Logic’s
Popguard™ technology helps to eliminate “clicks and pops” often associated with power cycling.
“The CS4361 represents a great combination of audio performance, features and competitive pricing that’s sure
to become a mainstay within consumer and automotive audio systems that require high levels of integration and superb
audio quality,” said Jason Rhode, vice president, Mixed-Signal Audio Products Division, Cirrus Logic.
Pricing and Availability
The CS4361, currently in volume production, is available in a
20-pin TSSOP package and is priced at $2.70 in quantities of 10,000. |
