Report: IBM Achieves Top Growth Among Top Three Storage Software Vendors, Outpaces Overall Marketplace for Seventh Consecutive Quarter
ARMONK, NY - : IBM outperformed storage software vendors EMC and Symantec (1) in the third quarter of 2006, according to new market share data released by IDC (2). According to the report, IBM grew storage software revenue 39 percent and was the only vendor among the top three to increase its revenue share, resulting in a year-over-year rise in market share of two and a half points, as reported by IDC.

Danish Tax Authority and IBM Announce 24 Million Euro, 3-Year Services Agreement
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK - : The Danish Tax Authority, and IBM today announced a 24-million euro, 3-year services agreement to modernize SKAT's IT systems. IBM will manage the development, operation and maintenance of a digital account for tax transactions between SKAT and Danish businesses. Also included in the contract is the development and maintenance of a new digital register for motor vehicles. The solutions will be implemented in 2008.

Fujitsu to Introduce New H.264 Format Video-Processing IC for Next-Generation DVD HD Recording and Playback
Sunnyvale, CA, — Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. today announced the industry’s first large-scale IC capable of real-time compression and decompression of high-definition TV-level video in H.264 format. The MB80H50, scheduled to be released in March 2007, is based on an H.264 processing algorithm developed by Fujitsu Laboratories Limited. The IC is designed with Fujitsu's high-performance audio and video processing technology and will be manufactured using the company’s 90nm process technology.

AMD Promotes Mario Rivas To Executive Vice President Of Computing Products Group
SUNNYVALE, CALIF. -- AMD today announced that Mario Rivas has been promoted to executive vice president of Computing Products Group (CPG). In this role, Rivas will be responsible for driving the development, strategy and management for AMD’s broad and growing portfolio of consumer and commercial microprocessor solutions. Rivas will report to the Office of the CEO, comprised of Hector Ruiz, chairman and chief executive officer and Dirk Meyer, president and chief operating officer. Rivas brings more than 25 years of semiconductor management experience to this strategic position. He joined AMD in 2005 and most recently headed AMD’s Office of Strategy Management, where he led the company’s strategic planning process. Dirk Meyer had been acting executive vice president of CPG since his promotion to President and COO in January 2006.
