DALLAS - Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) today
announced its first 2.25-A and 3-A non-isolated, plug-in power modules with TI's
Auto-TrackTM sequencing technology. The POLATM-compatible
modules simplify power design in industrial and data communications systems that employ high-speed microprocessors,
FPGAs, ASICs and TI's TMS320TM digital signal processors (DSPs).
The new 2.25-A PTH08000W and 3-A PTH04000W plug-in power modules support an adjustable
output voltage range down to 0.9-V at a power conversion efficiency up to 94 percent. The flexible converters'
unique Auto-Track sequencing feature allows the outputs of multiple modules to track one another or a common voltage
during power-up and power-down transitions.
The PTH08000W operates at input voltages from 4.5-V to 14-V, and
can supply an output current of up to 2.25-A with output voltages of 5.5-V to 0.9-V, making it ideal for systems
that use a 12-V intermediate distribution bus. The 3-A PTH04000W module supports input voltages from 3-V to 5.5-V,
and can support output voltages from 0.9-V to 3.6-V. The 3-A module efficiently meets all power requirements for
industrial, medical, and test and measurement systems that require a 3.3-V or 5-V distribution bus.
Both
modules include several power protection features, including an on/off inhibit and thermal shutdown, overcurrent
protection and under-voltage. | | |
