| Autonams LLC Chooses Nordic Semiconductor's 2.4GHz Transceiver
nRF2401A for Car | | | |
Oslo, Norway - Nordic Semiconductor ASA announced that Autonams has
selected Nordic's 2.4 GHz transceiver nRF2401A for its new line of car immobilizer systems "SKYBRAKE DD".
The
automotive industry has been a part of Nordic's target marked from the beginning and international customers within
this marked have been working with the nRF technology since 1999. The automotive industry is an extremely demanding
industry when it comes to quality of the technology used and the nRF technology platform is built to cope with these
demands.
"SKYBRAKE DD is a great system and shows that our 2.4GHz solution
can handle the rough and noisy environment of a car," said Thomas Søderholm, regional sales manager at Nordic
Semiconductor. "Autonams decision to use the nRF2401A comes from working with Nordic's radio technology for several
years. We have always been confident that our nRF technology has been suitable for the automotive industry and with
Autonams we have further strengthened our position in this marked".
"We are
always looking for the best solutions for our automotive equipment designs. We have now started production of our
first 2.4 GHz range immobiliser systems SkyBrake DD2, SkyBrake DD3 and SkyBrake DD Ekstra. These products have
excellent caharacteristics due to the usage of the nRF2401A as general communication interface between different
system parts," said Gunars Solovjovs, Head engineer of Autonams and SkyBrake systems. "Due to the simple, time
saving interface with microcontroller, our system can work quickly and save energy. Usage of DuoCeiver and
ShockBurst technology is a good choice in an interferent and noisy equipment such as car. Using sleep mode allow us
to save energy in small pocket size equipment. Our equipment works with an average of 22 uA power consumption,
transmiting and receiving two packets of strongly coded data for 2 mS every 8 second. Using a CR2430 small coin cell
battery the equipment will work for 8 months in all temperature ranges (-40 + 85). This is all due to using
nRF2401A".
