|OSRAM Opto Semiconductors spotlights a bridge: Tiny LEDs take centre
Visitors to the Regensburg festival, which took place
from June 24 to 26, were attracted to the town’s famous Stone Bridge by a mysterious light. Osram Opto
Semiconductors bathed the historic bridge in a magical atmosphere with two special LED spotlights. The lighting
installation was part of the Treasure Island concept of Stadtmaus, the Regensburg event organiser and provided the
lighting framework for a mediaeval spectacle.
Once again, the Regensburg LED
specialist showed the enormous potential in light emitting diodes for architectural lighting. For this special
application two standard spotlights with a diameter of 45 cm and a height of one meter were each adapted to take 72
Golden Dragon PUCK LED modules. Each module contains three identical LEDs in red, blue or green, with each colour
capable of being controlled separately. The result was a wide range of colours from red and orange to violet and
even white, throwing fantastic light on the arches of the bridge. Depending on the colour mix, the spotlights
provide up to 3000 lumen.
Golden Dragon LEDs are among the brightest and most powerful LEDs from Osram
Opto Semiconductors. They operate reliably in temperatures from -40 to 100°C and can withstand harsh ambient
conditions that typically in outdoor applications and in powerful spotlights. Other benefits include their long
life, high output and exceptional reliability
