| Agilent Technologies mobile protocol analyzer delivers highest capture and streaming rates for testing complex 3G networks | | | |
Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today unveiled its new J6801B Distributed Network Analyzer (DNA) for mobile signaling analysis. Sixteen times faster than the previous platform, it provides industry-leading performance in traffic capture and streaming for greater flexibility and efficiency in systems verification and problem resolution. Additionally, the analyzer brings a new UTRAN (UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network) optimization measurement set for simplified expert characterization of HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) and UTRAN performance and resource control.
Companies deploying radio access network systems strive to bring 3G networks from R&D to deployment quickly. However, with complex signaling and traffic patterns that require intense manual analyses, this task challenges even the most experienced engineers. Tools that accelerate systems test and verification can reduce deployment time significantly. Combined with the Agilent J7830A signaling analyzer software, the DNA reduces the burden of analyzing large volumes of data. Mobile equipment manufacturers and network operators can now take advantage of:
* Industry-leading performance in traffic capture and streaming: This capability allows users to capture a larger amount of mobile traffic without missing frames. Test engineers can also take advantage of off-the-shelf storage capacity and pricing. * Innovative filtering techniques: Test engineers save time by accessing specific event-customized traffic instead of parsing through thousands of unnecessary messages. * New UTRAN optimizer measurement set: This feature provides intelligent and unique insight into the allocation, control and use of high-speed downlink channels that enable competitive new services. * Signaling analyzer: This tool enhances support for IP UTRAN, GERAN, IMS and Sigtran; test engineers benefit by having the ability to re-use their DNA investment for multi-technology deployments.
"Our customers are excited about reducing the time it takes to validate 3G networks," said Steve Warntjes, business manager of Agilent Network Systems Test Operation. "Using our DNA signaling analyzer, customers can analyze high traffic loads and complex traffic mixes, and optimize their valuable 3G resources. Our customers can more quickly deploy new services that can result in higher revenues." |
