MOUTAIN VIEW, Calif., — Actel Corporation today announced that its Actel Fusion™ Programmable System Chip (PSC), the industry's first mixed-signal field-programmable gate array (FPGA), has won a Leading Product award in the 2006 EDN China Innovation Awards in the Digital IC and Programmable Logic category. This prestigious prize was officially presented to Actel at an awards ceremony in Shenzhen, Southern China earlier today.

The EDN China awards are based on voting by panel judges, consisting of specialists from academic institutes and universities as well as China's leading OEM companies. The resulting candidates are then chosen by qualified EDN China readers in a print and online vote.

"Actel is deeply committed to delivering the benefits of programmable logic to applications that have traditionally been served by discrete analog components or mixed-signal ASIC solutions. In doing so, we continue to develop innovative new products that help our customers meet their real-world design requirements," said Rich Brossart, vice president, product marketing, Actel. "The esteemed EDN China Leading Product, the sixth industry win this year for the mixed-signal Actel Fusion PSC, suggests that we are achieving these critical goals."

This is the second EDN China Leading Product award for the company, Actel won in 2005 for its Actel Libero Integrated Design Environment (IDE).
