Marvell Based NETGEAR Wireless Router Wins CES Innovation Award

Santa Clara, California — Marvell, the leader in storage, communications, and consumer silicon solutions, today announced that the Marvell® TopDog™-based NETGEAR RangeMax NEXT Wireless-N Router - Gigabit Edition has received a 2007 CES Innovation award from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).

CES Innovations awards are presented annually to the most highly honored products in the consumer technologies industry. Featured products are judged on their user value, their unique and novel features, their contributions to the quality of life, and their aesthetic and design qualities.

“The recognition of NETGEAR’s RangeMax WNR854T router as a key innovation of 2007 highlights Marvell TopDog’s position at the heart of the wireless, digital lifestyle,” Vivek Pathela, Vice President of Product Marketing for NETGEAR. “By featuring the highest data rates, the longest range, and the lowest power profile of any WLAN solution, TopDog ensures that the WNR854T delivers a seamless, high-speed, wireless experience to the digital home.”

Announced in April, 2006, TopDog is the world’s first 802.11n IEEE-draft-compliant wireless LAN (WLAN) solution for consumer, enterprise, and mobile markets. With industry-leading ease of use and multiple antennae configuration support, TopDog WLAN solutions feature speeds of up to 300 mbps for powering data intensive applications such as wireless streaming of HDTV and multimedia content throughout the home.

“Netgear has a proven track record of delivering rock-solid home networking products that meet the demands of the most cutting edge consumers,” said Dr. Paramesh Gopi, Vice President and General Manager, Embedded and Emerging Business Unit, Communications and Consumer Business Group. “By working with Netgear on the first TopDog products Marvell has ensured that those consumers will have the best possible networking experience in the home environment.”

NETGEAR’s RangeMax NEXT wireless-n router allows users to build high-powered, stable home networks with enough bandwidth to simultaneously surf the Internet, download MP3s, make Internet phone calls, share files, play network games, and stream high-definition videos. And RangeMax NEXT is compatible with all legacy 802.11b and 802.11g wireless products for flexible connectivity.
