|Vitesse Opens Taiwan Customer Technology Center|
CAMARILLO, Calif. - Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. announced the opening of its state-of-the-art Customer
Technology Center in Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C. Located in the Neihu Technology Park, the facility houses a laboratory
where customers have access to both the latest technology design equipment and Vitesse’s veteran team of highly
qualified application engineers for real-time assistance with complex, next-generation communications and storage
Vitesse selected the site of the office to be centrally located to all of its OEM and ODM customers in
Taiwan and the greater Asian markets. This community-based business model gives its customers a competitive edge by
providing them with dedicated resources while empowering them with more control over real-time design choices when
developing their solutions. In addition to technical and design services, Vitesse will also be staffed to expedite
sales, administrative, and channel inquiries. All operations of the facility are focused on lowering the barriers to
the market for Vitesse customers — making designs and time-to-market processes more efficient and enabling
innovation and ingenuity to be the standing order of the day.

The opening of
the Customer Technology Center will be celebrated with an invitation only open house on Friday, July 29, 2005,
hosted by Vitesse’s executive management. During the event, Vitesse will showcase three of its innovative and
marketing-leading technologies: Gigabit Ethernet, Serial Attached SCSI (SAS), and Passive Optical Networking (PON).
