| Micrel, Inc. Announces Election of Michael J. Callahan To Board of Directors | |||||
San Jose, Calif. — Micrel Inc. today announced the election of Mr. Michael J. Callahan to Micrel’s Board of Directors. Mr. Callahan will replace Mr. Warren Muller, who had previously stated his intention to retire as a regular member of the Board at the end of August 2005. Mr. Callahan is currently the Chairman of Teknovus, Inc., a privately held firm specializing in communications chipsets for subscriber access networks. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Quicklogic Corporation and serves on the Board of Virtual Silicon Technology, Inc., a supplier of semiconductor intellectual property to manufacturers and designers of complex systems-on-a-chip. Prior to these roles, he served as Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of WaferScale Integration, Inc. He was also the President of Monolithic Memories, Inc., a semiconductor manufacturing company. During his tenure at Monolithic Memories, the Company became a subsidiary of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., where Mr. Callahan then served in the capacity of Senior Vice President of Programmable Products. Mr. Callahan received his B.S.E.E. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As one of Micrel’s independent directors, Mr. Callahan brings extensive industry expertise to the Board. “Mr. Callahan brings to Micrel an impressive background in the semiconductor industry, both as a technologist driving new solutions to market and as an expert in the arena of manufacturing,” said Ray Zinn, President, CEO, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board, Micrel. “We are looking forward to his contributions as we all continue to work together to increase Micrel’s value-add with system level solutions that address the most demanding IC requirements in today’s global markets.” | |||||
