Micron Technology, Inc., Shipping 8 Gigabit and 4 Gigabit Qualified NAND Flash Memory Products

Boise, ID – Micron Technology, Inc. today announced it is shipping 8 gigabit (Gb) and 4Gb qualified NAND Flash memory products. Micron’s high-density 8Gb and 4Gb NAND devices use a 3.3V power supply and are packaged in a standard 48-pin thin small outline package (TSOP) for easy integration into most existing designs.

“Micron is committed to meeting customers’ solid state NAND memory requirements by offering competitive and quality solutions to enable next generation mobile applications,” said Bob Leibowitz, Micron’s NAND product marketing manager. “By leveraging our success and expertise in DRAM manufacturing, Micron is prepared to produce and deliver the high density devices customers demand for their mass storage requirements.”

Micron’s 8Gb (MT29F8G08FABWP) and 4Gb (MT29F4G08BABWP and MT29F4G16BABWP) NAND products are currently shipping in volume production to support the increasing customer demand in the fast growing MP3, USB drive, and Flash card segments. The 8Gb NAND device is available in a 1Gb x 8 configuration and 4Gb NAND devices are available in 512Mb x 8 and 256Mb x 16 configurations.
