Simulation Program

www.ti.com/analogelab for a live Analog eLab Webcast entitled "Designing with TINA-TI." Presented by Texas
Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE:TXN) and Avnet Electronics Marketing, a division of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE:AVT), the
Webcast will air at 11:00 a.m. CDT (18.00 hrs CET) on Wednesday, September 14, 2005. TI analog expert Bill Klein,
P.E. and popular eLab guest engineers Gina Hann of TI and Sarah St. John of Avnet, will provide designers with an
online discussion of design challenges and a lab demonstration of TINA-TI software.
The hour-long
session will feature a discussion on the benefits of designing, simulating and analyzing analog electronic circuits
with this free, easy-to-use program. Based on a SPICE simulation engine, TINA-TI features an intuitive schematic
entry and capture procedure.
During the lab segment, Klein and Hann will demonstrate how the real
world results match the results of the simulations using TI's extensive library of macromodels for precision and
high-speed amplifiers that is embedded in the program. They will show how to select components from convenient
toolbars, allowing easy circuit entry modification and explain analysis options including DC, AC, transient, Fourier
and noise. Engineers will learn how to use virtual instruments such as a function generator, multi-meter,
oscilloscope, X-Y recorder and signal analyzer as an addition to standard analysis output plots.
Analog eLab Design Engineers
Bill Klein, P.E. is the host for the TI Analog eLab Webcast.
Klein is a senior applications engineer with the high performance linear division of TI. He joined TI through its
acquisition of Burr-Brown in August 2000. Author of over 50 magazine articles, application notes and conference
papers, Klein also has a monthly column, "A Call I Took Last Week" on Planet Analog. His experience as an analog
circuit designer covers 30 years in fields ranging from mineral exploration to medical nuclear imaging.
Gina Hann is a product marketing engineer for the high performance linear division at TI in Tucson
and plays a key role in the training of TI personnel and field technical distributors. Hann holds a BSEE from The
University of Arizona.
Sarah St. John is a senior applications engineer with Avnet, Inc. and has
worked at the Boston office for 14 years. Her experience includes hardware, software and RF Design. In addition, she
has authored various application notes, technical training courses and a Power Supply Design Guide for Xilinx FPGAs.
St. John holds a BSEE with a digital design minor from Northeastern University.
