| Industry Leaders Standardize on NVIDIA HD Platforms | | | |
SANTA CLARA, CA —NVIDIA Corporation today announced that industry leading companies, including Adobe,
Autodesk, and VizRT, will be displaying their latest NVIDIA based HD content creation and delivery solutions at IBC
2005 September 9-13 in Amsterdam. These unique platforms feature commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products from
NVIDIA, a significant transition in an industry traditionally dependent on proprietary systems that are costly to
install, manage and upgrade.
As digital TV sales continue to grow at a tremendous rate, from 648,000 units in
2000 to over twenty million units this year , so does the demand for HD content, such as television programs,
sporting events, and commercials. In order to meet this demand, broadcasters and content creators are looking for an
easier and more cost effective way to produce and broadcast this content. Solutions incorporating NVIDIA products
are allowing companies to widely deploy platforms used to create, edit, and deliver the HD content that will satisfy
the needs of this rapidly expanding industry.
These NVIDIA based platforms include NVIDIA nForce™
Professional media and communications processors, NVIDIA Quadro® graphics, and NVIDIA software products, all working
together to help drive the compute-intensive applications found in the broadcast, film, and video markets.
”VizRT standardized on the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4000 SDI based on its leading graphics performance,
complex shader capabilities, and the highest quality video outputs,” said Christian Huber, director of operations at
VizRT. “Our turnkey solutions deliver the latest technologies to our customers faster and at a lower total cost of
ownership.”
The NVIDIA Quadro FX 4000 SDI, featuring NVIDIA PureVideo™ technology, is a fully
integrated graphics-to-video solution found in a range of broadcast applications that combine live video footage
with animated 3D graphics and text, from virtual-sets, to news, sports, and weather systems. The high-definition
10-bit serial digital interface (SDI) output connects directly to switchers, tape decks, or SDI projectors and
allows film and video post-production professionals to view fully programmable real time graphics on HD broadcast
monitors, used in 3D compositing, editing, and color grading.
“NVIDIA continues to provide Adobe
users with ever increasing graphics performance, powering a real-time editing and compositing workflow within Adobe
Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects,” said Steve Saylor, vice president of digital video and audio for Adobe.
“NVIDIA professional solutions are the standard for all of our partners’ OpenHD configurations that deliver a line
of open, scalable, certified desktop HDV and HD solutions, optimized to meet the needs of video, film, and broadcast
professionals, at a fraction of the cost of expensive proprietary systems.
The NVIDIA Quadro FX
540 GPU, certified OpenHD graphics, delivers value and capabilities never before offered at this price point.
Designed for mainstream, high definition (HD) non-linear editing (NLE), this solution features component HDTV output
and certifications for a wide set of video and broadcast applications. Furthermore, NVIDIA SLI™ technology allows
two of these graphics cards to run in a single system, driving up to three displays for the application, plus a
broadcast confidence monitor that allows users to see the exact content they are creating in HD.
For those who need to take their work on the road, the NVIDIA Quadro FX Go1400 GPU offers the performance and
features that allow them to do just that. NVIDIA Gelato™ hardware accelerated film rendering software running on an
NVIDIA Quadro FX Go1400 based mobile workstation will put these capabilities to the test at IBC. Used in film, TV,
and design, Gelato features, such as global illumination, ray tracing, volumetric shadows, and brand new Sorbetto™
interactive lighting technology, demonstrate the graphics processing power of this mobile workstation platform.
NVIDIA professional solutions (www.nvidia.com/quadro) are currently in stock and available worldwide
through all major workstation OEMs and from NVIDIA channel partners PNY Technologies (US and EMEA), Leadtek (APAC),
and Elsa (Japan). NVIDIA can be found in Hall 7 at IBC www.ibc.org (booth 7.920) September 9-13 in the Amsterdam RAI
Convention Center. |
