| CSR plans for future with the opening of CSR SARL a hardware design
centre in France | | | |
Cambridge, UK – CSR plc today marked the next step of its worldwide
expansion with the official opening of a wireless hardware design centre in Sophia Antipolis, France. CSR SARL is
headed by the design group leader Stéphane Boudaud and will employ a team of experienced design engineers to work on
hardware projects including the design of UWB (Ultra Wide Band) radios.
"We have been planning and working on a
very high speed version of Bluetooth for some time now, and the recent announcement by the Bluetooth SIG that UWB
will be added as a higher speed option is very welcome and fits perfectly with the investment we are making in
Sophia Antipolis," commented James Collier, technical director and co-founder of CSR.
"Sophia
Antipolis is the ideal location for CSR SARL given its concentration of advanced technology companies which attract
a highly skilled workforce," explained Stéphane Boudaud, design group leader of CSR SARL. "CSR is growing rapidly
and this new design centre will allow CSR to retain its substantial competitive lead and continue to develop the
best wireless solutions for the market." Sophia Antipolis is designated by the French Government as the 'centre of
excellence' for telecommunications technology in France
Since January 2005, CSR has opened a
design centre in Lund, Sweden and integrated sites in Detroit, USA, Shenzhen, China and Bangalore, India through its
acquisitions of Clarity Technologies Inc and, more recently, UbiNetics’ software business. |
