Atmel's AT91CAP Customizable Microcontroller Provides Low-cost Migration Path to High-volume ASICs | Atmel(R) Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML) announced today a low-cost re-targeting flow for migrating designs from its low entry-cost AT91CAP ARM(R)-based customizable microcontrollers to its ASICs that minimize unit cost in high volume. This flow, based on automated netlist re-targeting that preserves system functionality, enables customers to benefit from the low development costs and rapid prototype availability of the CAP(TM) and then, once the product has been proved in its application, transition it to a high-volume, unit-cost-optimized ASIC at minimal additional cost and risk. | Leer la noticia completa | 31 de Mar de 2009 - 06:40 PM
Atmel's MPCF-II Technology Brings ARM Processor-based Custom SoCs to 10K-unit Apps With No License Fees | Atmel(R) Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML) announced today its CAP7L customizable microcontroller that allows fabless semiconductor companies to implement ARM7(TM) processor-based systems-on-chip (SoCs) with a turn-around period as low as 12 weeks, a nominal NRE charge of only US$75,000, and unit costs as low as US$5, without requiring a separate license from ARM. | Leer la noticia completa | 30 de Mar de 2009 - 07:40 PM
Atmel Targets Mobile Devices with Low Cost 4-Channel QTouch Capacitive Touch Button Controller | Atmel® Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML), - announced today a convenient, easy to implement, low cost touch sensor IC, which brings capacitive user interfaces to price-sensitive consumer and mobile devices. This AT42QT1040 device is available in a 3mm x 3mm VQFN 20 pin package, making it ideal for use in mobile phones and other handheld devices where PCB space is at a premium. In low power mode the AT42QT1040 draws only 31uA from a 1.8 VDC supply, allowing capacitive sensing to be added with minimal impact on battery lifetime. The AT42QT1040 is the latest solution from Atmel's touch sensor division, which develops capacitive touch button, slider, wheel and touchscreen controllers. The AT42QT1040 includes 4 digital output channels, enabling per-channel indication on touch detection. The IC can also be configured using one channel as a proximity sensor, enabling 'hidden-until-lit' user interfaces where the device detects the presence of a finger some distance away from the keypad. | Leer la noticia completa | 23 de Mar de 2009 - 01:05 PM
