Freescale and ARM Extend Relationship with Cortex-A50 Processor License for Future i.MX and QorIQ Products

This agreement is part of a new multiyear subscription license with ARM that demonstrates Freescale’s commitment to the ARM architecture and its intent to further expand its ARM Powered® portfolio – one of the industry’s broadest range of solutions built on ARM technology.

Renesas Electronics Europe Announces New High-Speed Optocouplers Offering Extended Operating Temperature Range Combined with High Isolation and Shielding Features
Dusseldorf  – Renesas Electronics Europe today announced the availability of two new high-performance optocouplers, the PS9324 and the PS9123, for industrial and motor control applications. The new high-speed optocouplers are designed for 10 megabits per second (Mbps) high-speed operation over an extended temperature range: between -40°C and 100°C for the PS9123 series and up to 110°C for the PS9324 series. The new devices comply with international safety standards such as UL, CSA and VDE (optional), making them ideally suited for applications in harsh industrial environments such as factory automation (FA), measurement equipment and motor-control.

Dual Audio DSP Integrating 24-bit 5-Channel ADCs and 2-Channel SRCs for Multi-Channel Car Entertainment Centers
Tokyo, Japan Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM)  launched the AK7782, a dual audio DSP, integrated with two independent 24-bit 96kHz stereo ADCs with an eight-channel input selector, a mono ADC, and two independent 96kHz two-channel sample rate converters (SRC). It is ideal for car audio applications such as rear-seat entertainment systems. The eight-channel stereo selector and a SRC provide switching between analog or digital multi-source inputs. The SRC allows the DSP to operate in master mode only, eliminating complicated switching procedures between master and slave mode.

Renesas Electronics, a premier provider of advanced semiconductor solutions, today announced the availability of a family of 576-megabit (Mb) low-latency DRAM products (μPD48576109, μPD48576118, μPD48576209, μPD48576218, and μPD48576236) for network equipment. The 576Mb low-latency DRAM products offer doubled memory capacity, 25 percent improved random cycle performance for high-speed reading and writing of data, 33 percent faster operating frequency, and over 10 percent reduction in power consumption compared to the company’s existing 288 Mb low-latency DRAM products

Renesas Electronics Introduces Power MOSFETs with Compact Package and Improved Performance for Automotive Applications
Renesas Electronics, a premier supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, introduced today 32 new N-channel power metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) with voltage tolerances of 40 and 55 volts (V). The new power MOSFETs include the NP75N04YUK device, featuring a compact HSON package with one-half the mounting area of the existing TO-252 package and  the ability to handle current flows of up to 75 amperes (A).

Renesas Technology Europe today announced the release of the R8C/Lx Series of high-performance 16-bit microcontrollers with on-chip flash memory incorporating an LCD driver, for use in a wide range of LCD panel equipped applications including industrial and consumer products and battery-operated healthcare devices. The initial release phase comprises a total of 32 models (112 type names) in eight groups, incorporating large-capacity on-chip flash memory of up to 128 kbytes and offering higher performance together with improved ease of use through such features as ultra-low power consumption and enhanced peripheral functions.
