SUNNYVALE, CA —Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6782-MAX6790, low-power (5.7µA), 1% accurate, battery monitors capable of monitoring up to four voltage levels. These devices are ideal for monitoring single lithium-ion (Li+) cells or multicell alkaline/NiCd/NiMH powered devices. Each of the four monitored levels offers an independent low-battery output indicator for early warning as the battery level decreases. Monitoring each battery level to within 1% accuracy lets the battery operate for a longer period between replacement or recharge.

Heineken, IBM, Safmarine and University of Amsterdam Launch Wireless "Beer Living Lab"
ARMONK, NY & AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - Today IBM announced a new intelligent wireless project with Heineken, international shipping company, Safmarine, and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (University of Amsterdam) in conjunction with Dutch Customs, UK Customs and US Customs and Border Protection. The new project, called the "Beer Living Lab," will track cargo container shipments of Heineken beer from Europe to the United States using satellite and cellular technology. The goal is to create paperless documentation through better system interoperability, resulting in faster deliveries and reduced costs for international trade.
