Spansion Announces World’s First Single-chip 1 Gigabit NOR Flash
Memory | SUNNYVALE, CALIF. -Spansion LLC, the Flash memory venture of AMD and Fujitsu
Limited announced it is sampling the world’s first single-chip 1 gigabit (Gb) NOR Flash memory device to customers
in the embedded market. Based on 90-nanometer (nm) MirrorBit™ technology, the 1 Gb MirrorBit GL device is the
highest density, single-chip NOR Flash memory device on the market. It is designed for reliable code execution and
data storage in a wide range of embedded applications including automotive navigation systems, communications
infrastructure equipment, gaming and industrial control. The 1 Gb MirrorBit GL device is the first based on the
Spansion 90-nm MirrorBit process technology unveiled last month. | Leer la noticia completa | Martes, 18 Octubre, 2005 - 04:58
Analog Devices Selected For 3G TD-SCDMA Phone From Holley
Communications | Norwood, MAc- Analog Devices, Inc. announced that it will supply 3G
cellular chipsets to Holley Communications, of Hangzhou, China, a leading wireless communications company and a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Holley Group Co Ltd, for Holley’s next-generation handsets based on the emerging TD-SCDMA
Low Chip Rate (LCR) air interface. Specifically, Holley will utilize Analog Devices’ SoftFone®-LCR chipset, which
provides all the critical functions necessary to build a TD-SCDMA handset, including the baseband signal processing
and control, analog-interface functions and radio as well as Datang Mobile’s TD-SCDMA software solution and
applications suite. The 3G TD-SCDMA handsets from Holley are expected to be available by the end of this year. | Leer la noticia completa | Martes, 18 Octubre, 2005 - 04:57
| | Analog Devices Introduces Precision ADCS With Software Selectable
Input Ranges To Ease Industrial Design Challenges | Norwood, MA - Analog Devices Inc.
introduced a new generation of 16-bit and 18-bit PulSAR® analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) that address the
industrial customer’s need for more efficient and cost-effective data conversion, while reducing design complexity
and setting new standards for performance. SAR (successive-approximation register) converters comprise the majority
of the ADC market and are often the most cost-effective technology for applications that require very precise
digital modeling of analog signals, such as data acquisition, and process control systems used in factory
automation. | Leer la noticia completa | Martes, 18 Octubre, 2005 - 04:55

Analog Devices Introduces Advanced Circuits For Industrial And
Instrumentation Applications | Norwood, MA - Analog Devices Inc. is introducing its latest
wave of solutions, including data converters, amplifiers, voltage references and a new family of smart sensing
devices, designed to meet the unique signal conditioning requirements of industrial and instrumentation equipment.
By addressing the particular performance needs of high-voltage industrial systems operating in electrically noisy
environments, the new data converter, amplifier and voltage reference components — enabled by ADI’s patented
high-voltage manufacturing processes — feature reduced power consumption, cost and package size to simplify system
development and free up board space for the inclusion of new product features. The new family of smart sensors,
meanwhile, is based on ADI’s existing iMEMS® (integrated Micro Electromechanical Systems) technology coupled with a
novel, advanced integration technique. The new sensors deliver breakthrough performance and programmability to
simplify the design of factory automation controls, platform monitoring systems and other motion-sensitive
industrial tools and machinery. | Leer la noticia completa | Martes, 18 Octubre, 2005 - 10:51
| | Leading Biometric Fingerprint Provider Selects Blackfin Processor
For Overall Cost And Power Consumption Reduction | Norwood, MA - Analog Devices, Inc.
announced Suprema, Inc., a leading fingerprint solution provider for PC-based and other embedded applications, has
selected Blackfin® to drive its Unifinger™ SFM3000 and SFM3500 fingerprint-recognition modules. Leveraging the
Blackfin Processor, the Unifinger is able to store thousands of fingerprints in internal memory and provide a host
of biometric functions, including enrollment, one-to-one verification and one-to-many identification. Additionally,
the processor’s low power consumption makes the Unifinger module ideal for battery-operated biometrics devices, in
which low power is critical. | Leer la noticia completa | Martes, 18 Octubre, 2005 - 10:50
